Breaking The Transactional Relationship in Home Care

MissionCare Collective recently met with Sarah Milton at Amada Senior Care Westborough to discuss building culture in home care. She shares how they're improving their culture & making it more transparent, getting to know their team better, and how their culture makes their newest caregivers excited to start and stay working with them.

Here is the full transcript.

"There's a lot of things that I love about Coachup Care. The first being is it's very easy to use. It's incredibly user friendly for anyone on any kind of device, from iphones to Androids. It's very easy to navigate as well. On the administrative side, it's very easy to award points and to keep up on announcements and community connection. I also really love how it makes us more than just an office that they talk to. They get to know us as people and we get to enjoy their stories. It makes us asking for help with certain shifts, less transactional. When we're able to reward people for their hard work, I think it goes a long way and it really allows for our caregivers to know that we truly appreciate them.

CoachUp Care is a great platform for our caregivers to get to know one another. They get to see, you know, the things that they're doing great and getting rewarded for. They also can see different kinds of announcements that we need to share. It has improved our culture as it has made us more transparent and identifiable. I think it allows each of our caregivers to become more than just a name on our screen or name on our schedule, or phone number that we're calling or texting throughout the day. It really gets everybody excited when they see what one another is doing great. I think it's a great platform to really boost morale throughout our office as well as with our caregivers.

I have noticed that with, with using CoachUp Care, our new caregivers are really excited about it and they get to see how often that we get to really praise our caregivers and they get excited to start working with us. As well as stay working with us. I think a lot of our long time caregivers are extremely appreciative with us awarding points. I think it's become a very user friendly platform for our office to be able to offer incentives and make sure that these caregivers actually get them."
